Das Mobile Atelier will be hosted by the Gestaltenden Gesellschaft in Riedenburg from November 17th to December 16th, 2023. We are looking for an artist personality specializing in contemporary painting and graphics, someone who draws inspiration from Riedenburg, the surrounding cultural area in the Altmühltal region, its residents, and its history.
The Gestaltende Gesellschaft provides a studio and accommodation in a shared living arrangement. The size of the studio is suitable for small to medium-sized works, and digital methods of working are also conceivable. Das Mobile Atelier places great importance on artistic communication, so we hope for an individual who enjoys sharing insights into their professional practice and/or site-specific project with others for at least four to six days, as well as involving others in self-designed formats. A final exhibition opportunity will be offered.
We believe that contemporary art should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their place of residence, infrastructure, and financial means. Therefore, starting in autumn 2023, Das Mobile Atelier will travel through various regions of Bavaria, offering an independent, flexible (artistic) space for dialogue between artists, various Bavarian locations, and their residents. Das Mobile Atelier. Zeitgenössische Kunst in den Regionen is a project of the Bavarian Association of Visual Artists (BBK Landesverband Bayern), realized with the support of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art. Das Mobile Atelier announcement for the Riedenburg location will be followed by many more for other places in Bavaria over the next two years.
The development and implementation of the cultural program during the stay will be compensated at a rate of 2.000 euro per month. Additionally, up to 1.000 euro in total will be available for material costs for workshops or similar activities. Accommodation will be provided.
